James G. Donahue, M.D., FACOG

Dr. Donahue attended medical school in Miami, Florida and graduated in 1989. He completed his OB/GYN residency at Indiana University in 1993 and is Board Certified. Dr. Donahue completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Medical College of Georgia in 1995.

Dr. Donahue has been in private practice in Indianapolis since 1995. Dr. Donahue completed a Master's Degree in Clinical Embryology at the University of Leeds, UK in 2005. This is one of only five programs in the world that has formalized training in Embryology by leaders in our field. Dr. Donahue feels that he will give more, and better quality, care to our patients undergoing IVF and fertility treatments in general by having this extra specialized training.

His medical practice, Family Beginnings, PC has help thousands of patients in Central Indiana over the past 12 years. His practice name tells a lot about its caring professionals. Dr. Donahue is personally involved with all aspects of his patients care and is the only physician in this very busy practice. In late 2002, he moved his office to a larger North side location with an on-site IVF lab, egg retrieval room, and 4 recovery beds. This was done to offer more patients the opportunity to have IVF that might otherwise not try, due to financial considerations. He is very interested in the care of patients with PCOS and our web site demonstrates this.

Dr. Donahue is married. He and his wife of 21 years, Renate, have a 15-year old son, Christian. Renate is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Barry University in Miami, FL.  She provides counseling services to our patients and has a very good understanding of their emotional and psychological needs.
