PCOS affects women at all stages of their lives  from adolescence to adulthood and childbearing through menopause.  The syndrome may vary from patient to patient.  The cardinal signs include hirsutism (i.e. acne, excessive hair growth, elevated blood testosterone or DHEAS), anovulation (irregular menstrual cycles), and a polycystic appearance of the ovaries via ultrasonography.  Metabolic dysfunction including hyperinsulinemia, diabetes, hypertension may occur.  We hope to give you the most up to date information on PCOS as it relates to your health and fertility on the pages of this site.
